Unabridged Chick

I'm Audra, a 30-something married lesbian. I love interesting heroines, gorgeous prose, place as character, and the occasional werewolf.

Olive Kitteridge

Olive Kitteridge - Elizabeth Strout I am reminded very strongly of Sarah Orne Jewett and Strout's Maine is the future of Jewett's country of pointed firs. Much like Ursula Hegi, 'Olive Kitteridge' is made up of small vignettes exploring the lives of a community. I described this book to a friend like people watching, only reading -- glimpses of life, sometimes incomplete. Very poignant piece.
